The noise, which appeared around the first part of the saga written by Stieg Larsson, often discouraged reaching for this crime. This part of the audience, which, however, decided to read it, did definitely not regret the decision. The book “Men who hate women” earned appreciation among literary critics and readers around the globe.

Stieg Larsson, writing the saga of the Millennium, had no idea that thanks to the book, the whole world will open up for Scandinavian crime literature, and thus give a rise to other writers who have not yet been appreciated. Immediately after Larsson, novels of other writers appeared on the shelves , including Camilla Läckber and Liza Marklund.
What distinguishes Larsson\’s book from other nowadays crime is a small amount of bloody themes, death and crime. It is a psychological game, the history of Sweden and interpersonal relationships.

Mikael Blomkvist – the main character of the saga, is a journalist whose career hangs in the balance after he was sentenced to three months of prison for defamation. The one way to save his position is to write an outstanding journalistic reportage. The access to information is held by Henrik Vanger, who in exchange for allowing it, tells Blomkvistowi to solve the case of murder of his niece, Harriet. A genius hacker – Lisbeth Salander helps him unravel the mystery of 1966.

The whole story of investigation is interwoven with many intrigues, which take the reader through more than 600 pages of the novel without ever getting bored. In addition, the rich descriptions of places where the action is set, especially Stockholm and Hedestad, make it easy for a the reader to refer to these events in the real world.
