Tuscany is a quiet, picturesque piece of the world in Italy. In a sentimental journey through this remarkable place takes us Ferenc Mate – a globetrotter. Mate during his life journey lived in , among others, in Hungary, New York or Canada. However, he settled down for good in Tuscany.

The reader has the impression that the author tries to explain why this part of Europe he chose for his new home. A major role is played by the title “wisdom” which is presented in the book as everyday life. Preparing traditional foods with natural ingredients that delight with rich flavors and aromas. Mutual assistance and kindness to both neighbors and complete strangers. No hurry, pursuing careers and money. All these phenomena, the author describes as a natural, non-academic wisdom of the people who live here.

Reading “The wisdom of Tuscany” we immediately move to this land in Italy. We can almost feel the smell of dinner being prepared, we can hear the buzz in the marketplace. Transparent and very illustrative descriptions allow such a sentimental journey to the nearby, and yet another world.

The reader compares his everyday reality with life described in the book and falls into melancholy, a regret for something lost in busy, rushing to the front life.
This book is a great, relaxing tale of old, long-lost friend who talks in an interesting way about Mediterranean culture, traditions and people encountered. It is not reading an “empty” book, it tends to provoke reflection and a change, even a little, our lives. I highly recommend “The wisdom of Tuscany”, this is a book in which everyone can find something for themselves.

This novel is a worldwide bestseller of the last decade sold over eighteen million copies. Brown\’s book caused both admiration and outrage in the world , because the author addresses issues of the catholic church as well as religious sects.
In many countries, including Poland, the book was criticized by church authorities. Dan Brown included in the novel few theses from which the Catholic Church is absolutely cut off. According to what we read in “The Da Vinci Code”, Mary Magdalene was pregnant with Jesus Christ and she and her unborn child were the Holy Grail and gave a birth to the Merovingian dynasty prevailing at the beginning of the formation of France.

Another theory is saying that the Catholic Church is anti-woman and has a justification in the New Testament. Furthermore, the New Testament, should contain a lot more gospel than is known from the descriptions of the four evangelists. Jesus was not God declared when he was born, but in 325 year when it was decided at the council, and announced by the Emperor Constantine. In the novel, authorities of the Catholic Church are well aware of all this, but try not to allow that the truth saw the light of day. Standing on guard of these secrets is Opus Dei.

Although the novel was categorized as a fiction literature, it still made a lot of confusion in the world. On the basis of the book, eagerly watched film of the same title was made in 2006, with Tom Hanks in the lead role. Few books and lots of newspaper articles were written about “The Da Vinci Code”, aimed to confirm or refute the statements contained in Brown\’s novel. According to the church, this novel is nothing but a bunch of lies, but anyone who reads it, begins to wonder about their faith, and this is probably more valuable than saying meaningless prayers every night.

The noise, which appeared around the first part of the saga written by Stieg Larsson, often discouraged reaching for this crime. This part of the audience, which, however, decided to read it, did definitely not regret the decision. The book “Men who hate women” earned appreciation among literary critics and readers around the globe.

Stieg Larsson, writing the saga of the Millennium, had no idea that thanks to the book, the whole world will open up for Scandinavian crime literature, and thus give a rise to other writers who have not yet been appreciated. Immediately after Larsson, novels of other writers appeared on the shelves , including Camilla Läckber and Liza Marklund.
What distinguishes Larsson\’s book from other nowadays crime is a small amount of bloody themes, death and crime. It is a psychological game, the history of Sweden and interpersonal relationships.

Mikael Blomkvist – the main character of the saga, is a journalist whose career hangs in the balance after he was sentenced to three months of prison for defamation. The one way to save his position is to write an outstanding journalistic reportage. The access to information is held by Henrik Vanger, who in exchange for allowing it, tells Blomkvistowi to solve the case of murder of his niece, Harriet. A genius hacker – Lisbeth Salander helps him unravel the mystery of 1966.

The whole story of investigation is interwoven with many intrigues, which take the reader through more than 600 pages of the novel without ever getting bored. In addition, the rich descriptions of places where the action is set, especially Stockholm and Hedestad, make it easy for a the reader to refer to these events in the real world.

A series of “Harry Potter” is, whether someone likes it or not, one of the most popular literary cycles in history. Cycle, which has just come to an end (at least that ensures the author J.K .Rowling).
„Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” continues the already commenced at the “Goblet of Fire” gradual process of “darkening” and growing up the main character. What accompanies that process is the plot (again, it is impossible to make it without the death of several characters), and the problems of the young wizard, who is no longer interested in carefree study at Hogwarts. The final battle with Voldemort is approaching, the tension grows, and this translates into the relationships between the characters and the style of descriptions.

What has not changed since the beginning of the series is the style and feeling of “being caught” in reading. Twists, surprising solutions, dramatic moments – you will find everything here. You cannot break away from this book. It doesn\’t only apply to children who have definitively ceased to be the target group of Mrs. Rowling. In view of the fact that this is the last volume, crucial question appears – how the end came out?

The ending is good. Only so much and that much. There are no excessive fireworks, but it is so satisfying that I hope that in the pursuit of money series will not continue. To sum up, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is a good ending of the series. This is not the best book in the series, but certainly not the worst. It is worth reading (although because of the complexity of the story, it is better to go through the whole cycle before starting the final piece).

It’s been two years as George W. Bush is not a president of the United States. He had therefore plenty of time to write down his presidential and private life in his autobiography, which has just appeared and immediately became one of the most desirable positions in the U.S. and global book market.

Bush, in “Decision Points” talks about his addiction to alcohol and fight, he fought to run off from its clutches. In escaping the addiction his family and faith in God helped him a lot. But what’s most electrifying to the whole world is a confession of forty-third U.S. president on the war in Iraq, fighting terrorism and torturing prisoners accused of terrorism. Bush admits that he knew and allowed the torture, of some high-ranked Al Qaeda members, for example Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
What’s more he says that the decision was not easy, but very much needed for global security and he hoped that the law, which he managed to push through in Congress authorizing such practices will not be rejected by successive presidents.
The whole book has five hundred pages, where there are also memories of childhood and entire presidency. However, the chapter on staying in the White House is the most discussed and analyzed. George W. Bush in the book also looks at the issue of the war in Iraq and that they failed to find the chemical weapons, the existence of which almost everyone believed, but was not detected.

However, as a plus of his presidency he points out the fact that he managed to overthrow the regime of Saddam Hussein, and that he himself was sentenced to death by an independent Iraqi court. You can also read about the decisions he had to take in the view of the situation in Afghanistan and Iran, how he fought with commencing financial crisis and the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina.
